Basswood (Tilia Americana species) is sometimes known as Lime or Linden. It is from North America, but many of the Basswood species grow in the temperate climate latitudes around the Northern Hemisphere of this planet.
Basswood is the most commonly used wood in the world for timber blinds and shutters. Its properties of stability, lack of resins, ability to accept all stains and relatively light weight for a hard wood make it ideally suitable for the wood blind industry.
Our timber verticals are made from strips of basswood laminated together for increased stability (greater than a single piece) and then coated with a U.V. cured coating which imparts a cedar like grain to the surface finish of the louvres which are 89mm wide and 4mm thick.
Our vertical blinds can be made in various configurations, eg. controls left or right, louvres opening from left to right or right to left.
We supply our timber verticals in a light, medium and dark cedar finish.
