Our Rustic Timber Blinds are made of slats which are not highly sanded, but instead have a surface that sometimes hows tiny saw marks or raised growth lines. Knots are prominent and are a strong feature of these wood blinds.
The timber we use in these blinds is a plantation grown timber of South-East Asia and Southern China. It is a cousin of Western Red Cedar and after bamboo is the most important plantation grown wood in these areas.
The botanical name of the tree species is Cunninghamia Lanceolata and this species is widely and abundantly grown as a plantation resource for many purposes including food, medicinal, construction, furniture and in our case wood blinds.
The coating used is a nitro-cellulose coating which complies with the rigorous E.E.C. (European Union) anti-pollution regulations. The blinds are available in five stains:
Statesman Oak
Walnut
Golden Oak
Pecan Shell
Jarrah
These Rustic Blinds would be a beautiful compliment for a room furnished with re-cycled flooring or furniture. They are terrific for a cottage look or farmhouse type of décor, or they are beautiful as a fascinating display of wood in any situation.
